It rained on Kate and Riccardo's wedding day, it's said to be good luck but never really feels that way to the bride who has planned her wedding for months, sometimes years. I never really put much stock in the old wives-tale myself but after this wedding I'm a believer.
The sun played hide and seek all day, big, black, ominous looking clouds filled the sky to the North of us but there was hope it would hold off for the ceremony. By the time we got to the wedding venue though it was clear the ceremony would be held under the tent rather than outside overlooking the Sheepscot Valley. It was a bit disappointing but the service was gorgeous and heartfelt and in the end it didn't really matter what the view was because the love between Kate and Riccardo filled the day no matter what the weather.
After the ceremony the sun came out and we hurriedly put the arbor back in the field for some formal shots at the spot Kate had chosen. As we got in place and started clicking away a rainbow appeared in the treeline at the base of the hill. A clear sign, a blessing on Kate and Riccardo and their union that day.
