Southern Maine Wedding Photographer {it's all in the details}

Saturday morning Paul and I got up nice and early to a beautiful sunshiney day and headed south to Kennebunkport, to The Breakwater Inn & Spa, for Allison and Joe's wedding. It was the perfect summer day, big white puffy clouds, sappire blue sky, a gentle breeze coming in off the water... perfect!

We found Allison getting ready in a gorgeous little cottage right on the water, with views directly to her wedding tent. Allison had very talented ladies from New Angles Salon, out of Scarborough, there to do her hair and make-up and we arrived just as she was ready to sit down and have her make-up done.

I don't think I have ever met a happier more excited bride than Allison, she kept exclaiming "yay!" and clapping her hands, she was simply giddy with excitment to marry Joe. It was an absolute delight to photograph her. <3

Allison looking over at her wedding tent, I think her face says it all!

Allison's dress was simple and elegant and romantic and everything a girl could ever hope for in a dress.... seriously when little girls dream about dresses this is what they dream of.

Two pairs of shoes! Because Allison is a smart lady and didn't want to be sinking into the grass during her ceremony so she had some lovely little wedges for that part of the day, then once the dancing began she put on the traditional heels with a bit of sparkle. She wore a veil for the ceremony but again decided to change it up a bit for the reception with a lovely flower hair clip and her earrings were all romance. And isn't her bouquet the most beautiful thing you have ever seen?!

While Allison was having her hair finished up I snuck over to the tent to get some shots of all the lovliness there. First off let's talk about that tent... the pennent flags and double peaked roof... I want one for my backyard!

Then I went inside.

Allison nor Joe had seen it yet, it was to be a surprise to them as well as their guests, the tent stayed closed up until after the ceremony when the couple got a quick sneak peek and then they took the sides down and had a grand reveal to the guests. It was a perfect moment but for now how about some of the details that made it perfect.

and the rings I can't do a post about all the details without the rings

When I came back to the cottage Allison asked me if it was romantic, I almost laughed right then and there because it was the MOST romantic thing I had ever seen. And amazingly it was also simple and elegant which is really hard to achieve but Allison certainly pulled it off from her dress to her hair to the flowers and the cake.
